Ormeau Health Centre is an urban practice located close to Belfast City Centre and has a diverse patient population.
We are an eight-doctor practice with a current list size of nearly 10,000 patients.
The practice began in Donegal Pass, Belfast. As the practice expanded Dr Alasdair McDonnell & Dr Beman Khosravi moved into the old Ormeau Road Health Centre. In 2005 we built a new Ormeau Health Centre at 120 Ormeau Road where we continue to serve the local community today.
The emphasis at Ormeau Health Centre has always been on patient care both physical and psychological. We are a progressive practice and pride ourselves on providing a high standard of care.
The practice is contracted to Belfast Health & Social Care Trust on a General Medical Services (GMS) contract & are members of the South Belfast Federation.
We are a recognised teaching practice for medical students from both Queens University & Ulster University. We are an approved training practice for doctors undergoing GP Vocational Training Scheme by NIMDTA. As we teach the GP's of the future and ensure they get the best possible experience in general practice, we may ask you for your permission to video record your consultation so that their GP trainer, usually Dr Joaunny or Dr Plunkett can review their consultation style and the quality of the advice they are providing to our patients. Please help us to protect the future of general practice and it's workforce by consenting to this.
Please note: Under no circumstances are dogs, other than service dogs, permitted into the building. Please respect that other patients, visitors and staff may have allergies to dog dander, or may simply be afraid of dogs, particularly small children
